Album Notes & Community Reviews

Zephaniah's debut album was recorded with the Wailers, the first session the band made following the death of Bob Marley, and it includes his tribute to the imprisoned Nelson Mandela. Its settings place roots reggae alongside sitar, mandolin, oboe and West African drumming, and a later reissue reached number twenty-two on the UK independent chart; Mandela, once free, asked Zephaniah to host the Two Nations Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
