Album Notes & Community Reviews

Herrmann's final film score, written for Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Driver' after Brian De Palma recommended him for the picture, was recorded in Los Angeles over two days in December 1975, and Herrmann died in his sleep hours after the sessions ended. Scorsese dedicated the film to his memory, and the score brought a posthumous Academy Award nomination in a year when Herrmann was also nominated for 'Obsession'.
