Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Rite cruel' gathers twelve songs anchored, in Bernard Lavilliers' habitual writing ritual, in travel and intimate experience, moving between poetry, rock, Latin music and African rhythms. The album was recorded in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Kinshasa, and its songs address the state of the world alongside more sensitive, personal material. Regular collaborators including Fred Pallem, Micha毛l Lapie, Georges Baux and Ricardo Vilas contribute to the writing, and the intense first single 'Coriace' preceded the album in September 2026.
