Album Notes & Community Reviews

Looking to expand his commercial appeal, Bert Jansch's 'Nicola' incorporated string arrangements and subtle pop orchestrations into his usually stark acoustic style. Arranged by David Palmer, the record paired Jansch's intricate fingerpicking and cynical lyricism with uncharacteristic chamber-pop production. Despite a mixed reception from folk purists, it stands as a fascinating and deeply varied entry in his solo catalog.
