Album Notes & Community Reviews

Moving to a major-label subsidiary, Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno severely expand the scope of their typically breezy, lo-fi surf-pop. Produced by Wally Gagel, the record embraces massive, heavily distorted 1990s alternative rock guitars and soaring stadium hooks. Thematically, it navigates the dark, sleep-deprived insomnia that hides beneath the sunny, idealized Californian lifestyle.
