Following extensive vocal collaborations with The Chemical Brothers, the English singer-songwriter masterfully fused traditional acoustic folk with contemporary trip-hop rhythms. Produced closely with William Orbit, the warm, sweeping string arrangements and dusty electronic beats created a highly influential, entirely new hybrid style widely dubbed 'folktronica'. The deeply melancholic, vulnerable songwriting secured immense critical praise across both the indie and electronic music landscapes.
