Album Notes & Community Reviews

Formed by Mick Jones following his acrimonious dismissal from The Clash, this groundbreaking debut aggressively embraced the cultural collision of 1980s London. 'This Is Big Audio Dynamite' was among the very first rock albums to heavily integrate hip-hop beats, extensive cinematic sampling, and Roland drum machines into its post-punk framework. The wildly eclectic record proved commercially successful, acting as a direct precursor to the explosion of alternative dance music.
