Album Notes & Community Reviews
Emerging from the vibrant Polish jazz scene, 'Music for My Friends' showcases the formidable ensemble playing of Big Band Katowice. The instrumental arrangements blend traditional large-ensemble swing with the rhythmic complexity and electric instrumentation of contemporary jazz fusion. It highlights the incredibly high level of progressive musicianship operating behind the Iron Curtain during the 1970s.
