Album Notes & Community Reviews

Having reinvented his career for the emerging folk revival audience, the veteran bluesman delivers a stunning, intimate acoustic session. Stripped of his usual electric band, 'Folk Blues' focuses squarely on Big Bill Broonzy's booming voice and highly articulate fingerpicking. The album played a crucial role in introducing authentic, rural African-American musical traditions to an urbane, international audience.
