Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging from Ann Arbor, Michigan, this Detroit-affiliated quintet unleashed a swaggering, riff-heavy debut on the iconic Sub Pop label. 'Face' melds the sludgy, drop-tuned distortion of the grunge era with bouncing, syncopated funk-metal grooves and aggressive vocal deliveries. The album successfully captures the grimy, eclectic energy of the early 90s Midwestern alternative rock underground.
