Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally rolling out track-by-track over several weeks, the legendary alt-country songwriter presents a loose, remarkably peaceful collection of character sketches. Abandoning the heavier themes of his past work, the lyrics find him assuming various domestic personas, including a surprisingly earnest limo driver. Backed by sparse acoustic guitars and subtle horn arrangements, his iconic baritone feels incredibly warm, lived-in, and casually humorous.
