Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a period of relative stability, 'Trio '65' features Bill Evans working with bassist Chuck Israels and drummer Larry Bunker to revisit familiar standards and original compositions. While lacking the revolutionary impact of his earlier Village Vanguard sessions, the album is a pristine example of his lyrical, impressionistic piano style and intense telepathic group interplay. It is a gorgeous, deeply reflective cool jazz recording.
