Rambler

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as his second outing as a bandleader for the prestigious European label, this album highlights the guitarist's increasingly idiosyncratic, atmospheric tone. 'Rambler' extensively utilizes guitar synthesizers and delay pedals alongside a stellar avant-jazz quintet featuring Kenny Wheeler on trumpet. The recording seamlessly bridges the icy, spacious aesthetic of traditional ECM releases with complex, occasionally chaotic free-improvisation.
