Album Notes & Community Reviews
Sourced from an acclaimed 1954 European tour, this posthumously released album captures the legendary vocalist during a brief period of personal stability and vocal resurgence. Backed by a stellar, deeply swinging band including Buddy DeFranco and Red Norvo, she delivers remarkably confident, emotionally devastating interpretations of her classic repertoire. The recording offers a poignant, relatively high-fidelity glimpse of her enduring mastery before her final, tragic decline.
