Attempting to reinvent his image for the internet age, the British pop-rock star released this notoriously polarizing, sci-fi concept album. Recorded largely at home using early Macintosh sequencing software, the record fuses heavy industrial-dance beats with heavily synthesized rock guitars, heavily incorporating early digital culture terminology and aesthetic tropes.
