Album Notes & Community Reviews
Teaming up with Foreigner producer Mick Jones, Billy Joel pursued a harder-edged, guitar-driven pop-rock sound for his eleventh studio album. The record is famously anchored by the frantic, rapid-fire historical summary of 'We Didn't Start the Fire', which became a massive global phenomenon. The album deals heavily with themes of aging, the changing music industry, and the maritime history of his native Long Island.
