Album Notes & Community Reviews

Arriving on the heels of the massive hit 'Me and Mrs. Jones', the vocalist partnered with Gamble and Huff to create a sprawling, spiritually ambitious soul suite. Characterized by lengthy, intensely orchestrated tracks that fuse smooth jazz phrasings with deep, psychedelic funk, the record tackles vast existential themes while maintaining an undeniably lush sonic sheen. It is a stunning, heavily cinematic example of the era's grand progressive soul ambitions.
