Album Notes & Community Reviews
'The Border Minstrel' presents selected recordings of the Northumbrian smallpipes player Billy Pigg made by Forster Charlton during the 1950s, issued three years after Pigg's death. The programme mixes his own compositions, including 'The Gypsy's Lullaby', 'Border Spirit' and the variation set 'Bill Charlton's Fancy', with traditional tunes from his repertoire, and it carried his playing to pipers worldwide.
