Hiding Places

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Hiding Places', billy woods delivers dense, sardonic verses exploring themes of poverty, paranoia, and memory over Kenny Segal's distinctive production. Segal's beats are simultaneously sparse and detailed, blending gritty, distorted textures with unsettling loops and abrupt percussive crashes that create a tense, claustrophobic atmosphere. The result is a bleak yet compelling work, where woods' urgent, often impassioned delivery meshes with Segal's inventive and unhinged soundscapes to create a unified and visceral listening experience.
