Verdun

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised of a single, sprawling forty-minute track, the New Zealand duo delivers an overwhelmingly bleak, instrumental meditation on the horrors of World War I. Utilizing painfully slow, down-tuned guitar feedback and suffocating layers of dark ambient noise, the album mimics the suffocating dread of trench warfare. It stands as a monolithic, highly conceptual achievement within extreme drone metal.
