Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released on her newly established, independent Daffodil Records imprint, this intimate session captures the vocalist and pianist's uniquely girlish, breathy delivery in pristine fidelity. Eschewing large orchestral backing, the arrangements rely on a tight acoustic trio to highlight her impeccable phrasing and sophisticated harmonic sensibility. The recording emphasizes highly literate, witty songwriting from contemporaries like Dave Frishberg, reflecting the quintessential atmosphere of a smoky New York cabaret.
