Album Notes & Community Reviews
Highlighting the brilliant synergy between valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer and tenor saxophonist Al Cohn, this album perfectly encapsulates the relaxed intelligence of 1950s cool jazz. The two highly melodic improvisers weave intricate, conversational counterpoint over a deeply swinging rhythm section. The arrangements provide a sophisticated but highly accessible take on modern small-group dynamics.
