'New Works: Celebration' documents Brookmeyer's eighteen-piece New Art Orchestra, recorded over three days at Bauer Studio in Ludwigsburg with Scott Robinson featured on baritone saxophone. Its centrepiece is the four-part 'Celebration' suite, written for Gerry Mulligan and premiered at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in 1994. The album was later named to the Penguin Guide to Jazz's Core Collection of recommended recordings.
