Meet Mr. Gordon

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the only album led by the talented but tragically short-lived baritone saxophonist, 'Meet Mr. Gordon' perfectly distills the relaxed, linear aesthetic of West Coast jazz. Bob Gordon executes incredibly fluid, nimble solos on the cumbersome instrument, engaging in brilliant counterpoint with a sympathetic ensemble. The release is a highly prized artifact among enthusiasts of the mid-century California jazz scene.
