Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following a string of multi-platinum successes, 'The Distance' found the heartland rock ensemble incorporating more synthesisers and contemporary studio polish. The sessions were marked by the absence of longtime guitarist Drew Abbott, leading to a reliance on studio musicians like Waddy Wachtel. It includes the hit 'Shame on the Moon', demonstrating a continued mastery of the mid-tempo narrative ballad.
