Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating as a loosely structured concept album, the Mississippi native's ambitious sophomore release paints vivid, cinematic vignettes of deep Southern life. Gentry's smoky vocals and incredibly complex fingerstyle guitar playing are perfectly augmented by Jimmie Haskell's moody, eclectic orchestrations, blurring the lines between country, swamp soul, and baroque pop.
