500 Miles Away From Home

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Capitalizing on a massive hit single that adapted a traditional folk melody into a polished country framework, this collection focuses heavily on themes of wandering and nostalgia. The lush vocal choruses and smooth acoustic strumming are hallmarks of the commercial crossover strategy pursued by major labels at the time. The record perfectly encapsulates the gentle, highly melodic intersection of the folk revival and mainstream country.
