Album Notes & Community Reviews

Spurred by the massive, unexpected success of its title track, 'The Original Monster Mash' is an entire LP dedicated to Halloween-themed pop rock and novelty doo-wop. Bobby Pickett's uncanny imitation of horror icon Boris Karloff anchors the record, utilizing spooky sound effects and surf rock guitar tones to create a campy atmosphere. It stands as the definitive artifact of early 60s monster-craze pop culture.
