Album Notes & Community Reviews
Vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson delivers a lush, harmonically rich set of post-bop on this mid-70s Blue Note release. Featuring a unique ensemble that includes Woody Shaw on trumpet and Emanuel Boyd on flute, the album largely eschews electric fusion in favor of complex, acoustic modal compositions. 'Cirrus' highlights Hutcherson's brilliant compositional skills and lyrical improvisational style.
