Natural Illusions

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from the aggressive post-bop that defined his earlier output, the vibraphonist embraces lush, heavily orchestrated arrangements on 'Natural Illusions'. The project integrates sweeping pops orchestra strings and gentle chamber jazz textures to create an incredibly smooth, cinematic listening experience. Though a divisive release for purists, it highlights a sophisticated effort to merge cool jazz with accessible, adult-contemporary elegance.
