Vibraphone legend Bobby Hutcherson reunited with long-time collaborator, marimba player Dave Samuels, to deliver this vibrant, rhythmically complex fusion record. 'Un Poco Loco' eschews heavy synthesizers in favor of virtuosic acoustic mallet percussion, heavily integrating Latin jazz polyrhythms with sophisticated post-bop harmonic structures. It is a brilliant showcase of rhythmic interplay within a modern fusion context.
