Surprise-released at the end of an incredibly prolific year for the Detroit MC, this brief project was intended as a spiritual successor and deluxe extension to their critically acclaimed 'Bo Jackson' album. The Alchemist provides a gorgeous, incredibly mellow tapestry of obscure soul loops, allowing James to lay down intensely detailed, deadpan narratives of drug trafficking and survival. The immaculate chemistry firmly solidified the duo as one of modern hip-hop's greatest pairings.
