Album Notes & Community Reviews

As the formidable house band for Stax Records, this integrated quartet serendipitously recorded the title track as an instrumental blues jam while waiting for an artist to arrive. Anchored by Steve Cropper's biting guitar and Booker T. Jones's simmering Hammond M3 organ, the album became a foundational pillar of Memphis soul.
