Album Notes & Community Reviews
The husband-and-wife duo of Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez return with a sleek, highly stylized iteration of their trash-rock aesthetic. 'Whiteout' noticeably polishes the band's typical noise-punk sound, incorporating danceable grooves and slinky, pop-oriented hooks alongside the expected guitar fuzz. Co-produced with Andy Gill of Gang of Four, the album maintains a tense, confrontational coolness.
