Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'the record', the supergroup boygenius merges the distinct songwriting voices of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus into a cohesive and critically acclaimed indie rock and folk soundscape. Produced by the band with Catherine Marks, the album moves dynamically from gentle, acoustic-led tracks and three-part harmonies to moments of cathartic, distorted rock, reflecting a highly collaborative and intertwined creative process. Lyrically, the album explores themes of intimate friendship, queer love, and self-effacing vulnerability with a diary-like candor that solidifies the trio's identity as a singular, powerful entity beyond their individual solo work.
