Album Notes & Community Reviews

Brad Mehldau Trio's 'Day Is Done', released on Nonesuch in 2005, marks a significant shift in the group's lineup. This album features Jeff Ballard on drums, replacing the original drummer Jorge Rossy. Released in a minimalist card sleeve without artwork, 'Day Is Done' offers a direct, unadorned listening experience. The music, characteristic of Mehldau's refined and cerebral approach to the piano trio format, eschews overt theatrics for a more introspective and subtly intense exploration of melody and harmony.
