Album Notes & Community Reviews

The highly acclaimed pianist pivots from his long-running 'Art of the Trio' series to present an album comprised entirely of original compositions. 'Places' alternates between solo piano performances and recordings with his trio, featuring bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jorge Rossy. The compositions serve as a conceptual travelogue, highlighting Mehldau's sophisticated, classically-influenced approach to modern cool jazz.
