Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut full-length from Braid is a highly energetic, relentlessly complex foundational text for the entire Midwestern emo movement. 'Frankie Welfare Boy Age Five' features remarkably jagged, math-rock-inflected guitar lines completely intertwined with the intensely passionate, fiercely dual-vocal attack of Bob Nanna and Chris Broach. It captures the frantic, incredibly raw urgency of the 90s DIY basement show circuit.
