Album Notes & Community Reviews
A surreal, sparse masterwork of French avant-folk, 'L'incendie' continues the cryptic, haunting collaboration between poet-chanteuse Brigitte Fontaine and musician Areski Belkacem. The record utilizes minimal instrumentation and Fontaine's highly stylized, dramatic vocal performances to create a deeply sombre, hallucinatory, and unsettlingly intimate atmosphere.
