Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rejecting the grandiose excess of contemporary progressive rock, the British quintet's fourth album is a masterclass in tight, roots-oriented pub rock. Nick Lowe's sharply crafted songwriting shines through the loose, energetic performances, heavily steeped in Americana, R&B, and country-rock traditions that would profoundly influence the impending new wave movement.
