Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from the powerhouse blues-rock of Alabama Shakes, Howard delivers an incredibly intimate, stylistically diverse solo debut named in honor of her late sister. The record seamlessly drifts through fuzzy neo-soul, intimate acoustic ballads, and driving funk, anchoring the eclectic instrumentation with profound lyrical explorations of her mixed-race heritage, sexuality, and religious faith.
