Album Notes & Community Reviews

A pioneering force in the emerging brutal death metal subgenre, the Chicago quintet delivered an incredibly heavy, guttural debut. The album relies on chugging, low-tuned riffs and Joe Ptacek's remarkably deep, decipherable growls, setting a heavy standard for extreme metal in the Midwest.
