Album Notes & Community Reviews

Usually recorded in a duo format with Sonny Terry, 'Brownie's Blues' affords Brownie McGhee a rare opportunity to showcase his Piedmont blues fingerpicking in a different setting. Supported by a subtle rhythm section, the LP highlights his warm, highly melodic vocal delivery and relaxed guitar style. It is a vital document of the East Coast blues tradition preserved during the height of the folk revival.
