Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during breaks in the 'Magic' tour, this album finds the heartland rocker embracing a lush, heavily orchestrated pop sound reminiscent of the 1960s Beach Boys and Byrds. The record is notably optimistic and romantic, serving as a bright thematic counterpoint to the political brooding of his earlier 2000s material. It marked his final studio collaboration with longtime E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons before his passing.
