Album Notes & Community Reviews

As one of the foundational documents of the Bakersfield Sound, 'You're for Me' finds Buck Owens aggressively rejecting the lush, string-laden productions coming out of Nashville. Relying instead on driving Telecaster twang and a stripped-down rhythm section, the LP offers a harder-edged, honky-tonk-derived country format. It set the stage for his massive commercial domination of the country charts throughout the 1960s.
