Album Notes & Community Reviews
As one of the few instrumentalists to successfully translate the complex language of bebop to the clarinet, Buddy DeFranco delivers a dazzling display of technical agility on this release. 'King of the Clarinet' features his remarkably clean, rapid-fire phrasing over a driving, modern rhythm section. The sessions solidify his reputation as the premier clarinettist of the post-swing era.
