Album Notes & Community Reviews

Capturing the legendary drummer leading a robust ensemble through high-energy, tightly wound arrangements, 'The Swinging Buddy Rich' highlights his formidable technical agility. The sessions bridge the gap between large-scale swing momentum and modern bebop idioms. It serves as an important mid-century document of his transition towards more complex, small-group dynamics.
