Studio One Presents Burning Spear

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Winston Rodney's debut full-length, recorded at Clement Dodd's legendary studio, laid the foundational groundwork for the roots reggae movement. Backed by the facility's in-house session musicians, the tracks introduce his signature chanting vocal style and profound Rastafarian themes. The sessions transition away from the upbeat rocksteady of the previous decade towards a heavier, more spiritually and politically conscious sound.
