Razorblade Suitcase
by Bush
Attempting to shed the derivative, corporate-grunge stigma attached to their massive debut, the band enlisted legendary noise-rock producer Steve Albini. The resulting sessions stripped away the radio-friendly polish, yielding a significantly harsher, more abrasive guitar sound and deeply anxious lyrical themes. Despite critical backlash accusing them of mimicking Nirvana's 'In Utero', the album debuted at number one in the United States.
