Album Notes & Community Reviews

Experiencing an unexpected wave of MTV-driven commercial success, the notorious noise-punk outfit polished their acid-fried surrealism into slightly more accessible alternative rock structures. The smash hit 'Pepper' introduced their bizarre, slacker-psychedelia to a massive mainstream audience. Despite the cleaner production, the band retained a deeply weird, abrasive undercurrent that alienated traditional pop listeners.
